Congrats and Shame!

I’ve gotta be honest… I’m a bit disappointed right now.  I nonchalantly slipped a HUGE announcement into my last post, and only ONE Virtusite noticed it and responded accordingly (Thank you James Browning!!! You get the Gold Star!).  So this means one of three things:

  1. You didn’t read my last post, so shame on you… OR
  2. You read it and somehow missed the huge announcement, so shame on you again… OR
  3. You read it, saw the announcement, and didn’t think it was worthy of a comment, so DOUBLE SHAME on you!

So I guess I’m going to have to spell this one out for you.  Our very own Robert L. Jenkins III has completely duped convinced Cara Willoughby to marry him!!!  That’s right…

Bob and Cara are ENGAGED!!!

Bob and Cara are engaged

Here we see the soon-to-be-newlyweds when their courtship was still brand new.

If you’re reading this and if you care at all, please leave a comment for Bob and Cara.  If you don’t, then SHAME on you!

So, congratulations, Bob and Cara!  May you enjoy many decades of wedded bliss.  Here’s to hoping you make many future adventure racers together, and hopefully, we can get Tenacious D to play at the wedding.  Anyway… We love you guys.

On a side note, Bob turns 33 tomorrow, so happy birthday, Bob! You’re getting older, but you’re still young enough to be Maw Maw’s son.

  1. I caught it, but chose to have a special private moment with Mr. Jenkins over super secret secure email. I was amazed that he was able to trick her into saying yes without checking with me or Todd to use any of our patented pick-up lines.

Super happy for you guys. Congrats!

  2. Hey, what happened to the old redhead after Thunder Rolls…?

Congratulations on the engagement. Have you (I mean Cara, get used to it, that is who will be making all of your decisions from now on) set a date yet? I wish you many years of happiness, many children and at least one set of twins.

Marriage is much better then second time, trust me I know what I am talking about.

    • He means it’ll be better BOB’s second time…Cara is doing pretty well with her first choice. 🙂

      • That is exactly what I meant. Seeing it took me two tries to find the right one. However, if I (like Cara) had choosen Bob the first time I would have been set for life. (In case you were wondering -Bob would be the wife in the relationship).

Bob – Does this mean you’re keeping the heart box of chocolates forever?

        • That’s a negative. We shall continue the “changing of the chocolates” tradition forever. We just need to get your legs fixed and get a race picked out.

I actually had to spray the chocolates with a pesticide yesterday…they were being overtaken by ants.

          • I hope it was a food-safe pesticide. We are supposed to eat them when we are old and gray, remember…then we die from them in one of Luke’s previous posts (maybe we really will now that you poisoned them).

  3. Gerry Voelliger

Congratulations Bob and Cara! Hope to see you at Thunder Rolls in August. Best Regards! Gerry

    • Gerry, we WILL be at Thunder Rolls this year and I couldn’t be more excited about it. In fact, we plan to be competitive so watch out!

  4. Hilarious! I know she hates that photo but it’s alright since I’m about 95% sure she doesn’t read this blog 🙂

It took over 3 years of rigorous testing, but I’ve concluded that Gomed is indeed the perfect woman for me. I can think of no greater birthday present than to be engaged to this byootiful woman.

The bad news is that she wants me to get rid of my “GAME OVER” t-shirt. I guess that means I have to wear it everyday until the big day.

And let’s not forget Luke and Becca’s anniversary is on the 8th.

  5. I told Bob Congrats at Binder but will say it again here. I waited a long time before finding the perfect girl to marry, and by perfect I mean someone who can put up with my BS. I wish you the best and can’t wait to see Bob ride the Kona Joe down the isle in a tux.
    Congrats to Bob and Cara!

  6. It’s about time Bob!! Seriously congrats to you both!! I wish you the “ears” to a happy and loving marriage and the stamina to keep up with Cara! Oh and Happy early Beerday Bob! Hopefully see you soon!

I and a big early Happy Anniversary to Luke and Becca! I wish you many more years of love and hanky panky!

Geez team Virtus needs to throw a party!

  7. I figured something might be up since Bob admitted he needed to marry her in his last race report. I think Adam needs to be fired for the lack of comments until now. Congratulations Bob!

  8. James Browning

I’m a Virtusite!?! That made my day. I’ll have to look up the definition in the forthcoming Virtusicon.

  9. Wow, Cara has finally decided to settle down! Congrats to both of you.

Also, Happy Anniversary to Luke and Becca.

  10. Well I saw it and I guess just let it go on by, though I did wonder if something had happened that I didnt know about, or that they had finally been together long enough now that it was a common law thing. =) Congratulations Bob and Cara!

  11. I don’t know any of you but think this post is rad! I would have given it a 5 star rating but kept a little sumthin’ sunthin’ in reserve until you can confirm that Tenacious D is playing at the wedding.

  12. Grand! When I first met you two strangers in the middle of the night to go hiking in the woods I’d never been out in (I’m so trusting), I thought you should marry her just for wanting to tag along on such an event. Then again, was she packing heat and just coming along to make sure I didn’t murder you and make a Bob skin suit or something? Congrats guys!

  13. Congrats…and sorry Luke, I didn’t read your last post
